Kate Usmar is the founder of Alongside Ag and is passionate about helping producers build healthier, more resilient farming businesses through practical regenerative agriculture and whole-system thinking.
Working alongside Growers and Graziers, Kate supports producers to improve soil health, plant function, grazing systems, and livestock wellbeing while increasing resilience and profitability per hectare. Her approach focuses on strengthening ecosystem function and helping producers better understand the connection between healthy soils, healthy animals, healthy landscapes, and strong farm businesses.
Kate has completed Nicole Masters’ CREATE Program through Integrity Soils — an intensive professional development program in agroecological systems, regenerative agriculture, coaching, and facilitation. The program equips consultants and coaches with advanced training in soil science, plant physiology, ecosystem processes, systems thinking, and behaviour change to support practical, long-term outcomes for producers.
Combining practical on-farm experience with coaching and facilitation skills, Kate works collaboratively with producers to create clear direction, practical solutions, and confident decision-making within their businesses. She believes lasting change comes through partnership, curiosity, and supporting people to work with nature rather than against it.
Through Alongside Ag, Kate is committed to helping build thriving farms, resilient landscapes, and strong rural communities for future generations.
